Spare Parts Policy

The following sets out the Spare Parts Policy for York Barbell Co. Ltd. (Canada) (“York Barbell”) for Canadian customers who have purchased products from York Barbell online at: www.yorkbarbell.ca.

Spare Parts

When purchasing spare parts or accessories via this website or via the online product form please note:

1.  When contacting our customer service team with regards to purchasing spare parts or accessories, please ensure you provide the part number as per the manual. If you do not have a manual, a replacement can be found in our manuals catalogue. Please note some of our models, for example the Aspire, have several different versions distinguished by product code, if you are unsure of which is the correct version, please also provide your serial number and our team will be able to double check this for you. Serial numbers are located on a label on the main frame of your machine.

2. We aim to keep essential spare parts for our machines up to 3 years after they have been discontinued. However this is not always possible for reasons out of our control, we will do our best to source alternatives for you, unfortunately again this is not always possible. In these circumstances where the lack of parts availability renders your machine unusable, please do contact your customer service team as we may be able to offer a discount on a replacement machine.

3. We are only able to supply spare parts and accessories to Canada. If you require a spare part and do not live in Canada, please contact our customer service team via contactus@yorkbarbell.ca who will direct you to the local distributor.

4. Internal spare parts such as the motor, PCB etc. are tested at our factories or warehouse, for this reason it is likely that they will have signs of scratches and screw marks on them and not look as aesthetically pleasing as that you would expect from an external cosmetic part of the machine. It is very rare that a spare part purchased would be faulty despite looking a little “rough around the edges”.

5. All of our non-consumable spare parts come with a 90-day warranty. Please note however if you report an issue with any purchased parts within this warranty period our customer service team may require you to return the part to our warehouse for testing. If the part is found to not be defective, it can be returned to you, however this would be at your expense. If the part is found to be defective, we will send you a replacement free of charge. Please note York Barbell cannot be held liable for any installation expenses even if the part is found to be faulty.

6. All of our spare parts come with a 30-day return policy. Whether the part ordered does not resolve your issue or you order multiple parts at the same time and want to return any unused parts for a refund you must follow the return procedure set out below.

7. In the event that any equipment develops a fault outside of warranty our customer service team will do their best to advise you of all the possible causes and solutions. On most occasions, they will suggest more than one part as a possible cause of the issue; this is because without a technician physically assessing your machine it is very difficult to conclusively determine the part that is causing the issue. In the event that our customer service team do recommend a spare part they are doing so based on the information provided and are advising on the most likely parts only, due to the nature of these internal components we are unable to guarantee any suggested parts will fix your equipment.

In cases where a part suggested does not resolve the issue York Barbell is not liable for any expenses incurred relating to installation of the parts or shipping cost. You may return the part within 30 days following the procedure below.

8. Some spare parts are considered to be consumable; this means you will have to replace them over the lifetime of your machine. How long these consumable parts should last will depend on a number of different factors such as frequency of use, environment, technique, other components, etc.

For this reason consumable parts do not have a warranty however, if you feel that the part requires replacing unreasonably early, please contact our customer service team with full details of the circumstances and they may be able to assist you. Consumable parts include, but are not limited to:

9. If you wish to make a claim for a spare part against your warranty, please contact our customer service team by completing the form on the return policy page. 

10. York Barbell does not offer the ability to order spare parts free of charge if covered by your warranty. Spare parts ordered will not be refunded if you later decide they should have been ordered pursuant to your warranty. If you believe that a part should be covered under warranty, please refer to our Warranty Policy

Spare Part Returns

If you wish to return your spare parts:

1.  You must let us know in writing by contacting us contactus@yorkbarbell.ca or 1 (800) 361-0448 no later than 30 days after you have received delivery that you wish to return the order. Please provide your contact information (including the email address you used to place the order) and your order number and a statement that you wish to return the order.

2. Once our customer service team confirms that your request is within the 30-day return period, they will issue you a Returns Authorisation Number. Please allow 1-3 business days for your return request to be processed and a Return Authorization Number to be issued.

3. You must arrange for delivery of the spare part back to our warehouse, at your expense, within 14 calendar days after the day we issue you the Returns Authorisation Number. The address for our warehouse is: York Barbell Co. Ltd., 1450 South Service Road West, Oakville ON L6L 5T7.

4. Any parts returned without a Returns Authorisation Number will be refused by our warehouse.

5. The parts must be returned in “like new” condition, which means they have not been used and are in the original packaging. Any parts that have been removed from the packaging, have been used, are missing parts, manuals or accessories, or have been installed or assembled are not in “like new” condition, are not covered by this return policy, and cannot be returned.

6. Once we receive your returned parts, we will consider whether they are in “like new” condition. If so, we will refund you the purchase price of the part, excluding shipping costs, using the same payment method you used to place the order. If we cannot use that payment method, we may contact you for an alternate refund method or we may mail you a cheque.

7. If the returned parts are not in “like new” condition, we may refuse to accept the return, or issue you a reduced refund, in our discretion.

8. We aim to issue refunds promptly, but your refund could take up to 30 days from our receipt of the returned part. We will refund the cost of your order, less shipping charges.

Notes:

9. Products identified as “clearance”, “closeout”, “discontinued”, “final sale” or similar language, or that are in the “Clearance” section of the website, are not eligible to be returned under this return policy.

10. If you want to cancel an order after it has been shipped but before it is delivered to you, you must accept the order and then return it following the process above. Contact us as soon as possible at contactus@yorkbarbell.ca or 1 (800) 361-0448.

11. If you wish to return an order because it has been delivered damaged, please follow the procedure in the Shipping and Returns Policy, under “Receiving and Inspecting the Order”.

12. If you wish to return a faulty part, please refer to our Warranty Policy

13. You are responsible for taking care of the parts while they are in your possession.

14. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. This policy applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and unless restricted or prohibited by law. Where any term of this policy is restricted or prohibited by applicable law, such term shall be null and void but the reminder of this policy shall remain in effect.
